Who Can Apply?

This internship is for university students. Specially for those who are studying Mass Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, IR – International Relations, Peace and Conflict, Strategic Studies, Defence Studies, Psychology, Computer Science, PR, and even Law.

But don’t worry if your field is different. I have seen BBA and BS English students also selected. Main thing is your interest in Pakistan Army and media.

ISPR usually makes 2-3 batches every year. Summer batch is biggest one.

Eligibility Criteria For ISPR Internship Program

Education

You must be a university student. BS 5th semester and above, or Master students. If you are in 1st or 2nd semester, they usually don’t take. Minimum CGPA should be 2.8 or 70% marks. Some departments need more, like IR and Media need good CGPA.

If you have just completed your degree within last 1 year, you can also apply. Fresh graduates are allowed.

Age

Age limit is 20 to 28 years. They are very strict about age. Under 20 they don’t take.

Domicile

All Pakistan. Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, AJK – all can apply. In fact ISPR tries to take students from every province.

Other Requirements

You must have interest in Pakistan Armed Forces, current affairs, media. If you have any certificate of debate, declamation, sports, volunteer work – its big plus.

And one more thing – your social media should be clean. If you post against Army or against Pakistan on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram – you will be rejected. ISPR checks everything.

How To Apply For ISPR Internship Program 2026?

• When internship opens, ISPR will post on their official Facebook page and Twitter – @OfficialDGISPR – and on ispr.gov.pk. That is the only official source.
• They will give a Google Form link. Open that form. Use your own Gmail, not your friend’s.
• Fill personal info. Name same as CNIC. Be careful with spelling.
• Fill education details – university name, semester, CGPA.
• In the section “Why you want to join ISPR internship” – write from your heart. Don’t copy paste. Just write 5-6 lines like why you love Pak Army, what you want to learn. Write in simple English.
• Upload your documents – CNIC, student card, CV, photos.
• Submit form and take screenshot.
• After submit, you will not get auto email. You just have to wait. If you are shortlisted, ISPR will call you or email you from official ispr email. They never call from private number.
• No fee for this internship. If someone asks for money for ISPR internship, its 100% fraud.

Important Dates

• But if we see last years pattern – ISPR announces summer internship in September. Form stays open for 10-15 days only. Shortlisting in 2 weeks. Internship starts in September.
• Winter internship, if they announce, comes in November / December.
• So my tip – follow ISPR official page on Facebook and keep checking in May. Seats fill very fast, form closes early sometimes.

Selection Process

• First they check your form. If your CGPA is low, or you are in early semester, you are out in first round.
• Then they check your write-up. If you copied from internet, they will catch. They have software.
• Then shortlisted students get call for interview. Interview is usually online on Zoom or sometimes physical at selection center in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi. In interview they ask simple questions – tell about yourself, why you want this internship, what you know about ISPR, what is 5th generation war, what is role of media.
• No need to be over smart. Just be honest. If you don’t know something, say sorry I don’t know, instead of giving wrong answer.
• Final list comes and they send you joining letter with date and location. You have to bring original documents on first day.
• There is no written test for internship. Only form and interview.

Let me clear – ISPR internship is unpaid. No salary or stipend. You have to manage your own travel and stay if you are from other city.

Tips For ISPR Internship Program

• Make your social media clean: Before applying, delete any meme or post that is against Army or controversial. ISPR team checks your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Keep profile decent.
• Write-up is key: Don’t write big poetry. Just write simple. For example – “I am student of Mass Com at Punjab University. I want to learn how ISPR counters fake news against Pakistan. I love Pakistan Army from childhood etc.” Simple and real.
• Apply early: Form opens and closes very quickly. Apply in first 2 days.
• Keep original documents ready: On first day they check everything. If any document fake, you are blacklisted.
• Be disciplined: This is Army internship, not university. Come on time, wear proper dress – no jeans and t-shirt. For boys – dress shirt, for girls – decent dress. No shouting, no mobile use during session.
